Don’t see the point in shaming macos developers. In any case though those “nerds” are likely the only reason macos still exists. If you take the idea of power users being unimportant seriously, then macos as a platform becomes redundant for apple. Without a market for power users, macos would fold into IOS. That might work for you, but not power users. I think it’s incredibly short sighted to be dismissive of the power user aspects of macos, terminal and all.
